What is the best time of year to fish?

July and August are the two best months of the year but fishing is also very enjoyable from may right through to oct. June is traditionally our peak run off period at which time still water (lake) fishing is the preferred choice among our clients.

What do I have to bring?

We ask you to bring your favourite flyfishing hat, a rain jacket, a fleece, sunscreen and glasses. We supply you with rods, reels, and breathable waders. If for some you reason you are caught in a pinch we have a limited supply of rain gear and polarized sunglasses.

What type of flies should i bring?

Check our fly chart to see the different hatches through the summer to find the ones that would apply to your trip. We also carry a complete selection of flies during your trip to as the saying goes " a good flyfishing guide is always prepared".

How much is an angling licence?

An angling licence is either CDN$32.50/day or CDN$45.00/days. THis price is set by the Alberta Provencial Government and can change without notice.

What fish do you have in the area?

The predominant fish that are found in this area are the brown trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, bull trout and rocky mountain white fish.

Do you use boats or wade fish?

We offer both types of fishing.

Rivers or Lakes... what do we fish?

We Flyfish river lakes and streams. Our primrary goal is to plan a flyfishing trip to meet your need. The only more difficult time is during hign run off, in June, when we exclusively fish lakes.

Does Tightline Adventures supply the food?

Tightline Adventures takes care of all the food and non alcoholic drink needs. Deli sandwiches, cookies fruit, water, soft drinks, and chips would be examples of some of the food items we would bring.

Does Tightline Adventures supply the flies?

We get the clients to buy a few flies from the shop, but, as previously mentioned, we also carry a complete selection of flies during your trip to as the saying goes " a good flyfishing guide is always prepared".

what does Tightline Adventures not supply?

We do not supply your angling licence or all of the flies that you use.
